How does one gain more faith? That’s right, exercise. It’s easy to allow instincts to override our belief systems and what we know to be true…what we truly believe in. Romans 10:13 tells us that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. If you are having trouble believing that, then that is the sign of a weak faith muscle. Problems and doubts handled in faith are to your faith as exercise is to the muscles. They will only make you stronger but they require action.
What we dwell on impacts our everyday life and our level of worry directly correlates to our level of trust in God. Philippians 4:6 tells us to be anxious for nothing….period. What if we would just not worry about anything, but pray about everything? What a perfect way to position ourselves to bring about the fullness of Christ in our lives.
Did you know that God is only participating in your life to the level that you are allowing him to participate? That is why is it so important to seek God’s wisdom and not just the quick answer as we face challenges and decisions. In todays teaching as we study James 1:5-8, Pastor Ron Grubb will lead us to that place of asking and then realizing that faith is not just what you believe, it’s where you put your life.
What is it to truly be a follower of Jesus? Is it all sunshine and rainbows? According to James 1:1-4, it can often be challenging and painful. Join us today as Pastor Ron challenges us to see our problems not as difficult interruptions, but rather divine interventions and helps us to understand that God doesn’t care what you think as much as he cares about how you think.
